The Evan Lab studies interactions between viruses and hosts. In particular, we focus of defining interactions that influence the tropism of hepatic viruses, such as the hepatitis C virus, and Flaviviruses, such as dengue and Zika viruses. The results from these studies are important for the development of both cell culture systems and animal models that are permissive to viral infection and will be critical for understanding virus induced disease and the testing of vaccines.
